Wool felt requires special care to maintain its structure and longevity. Follow these washing instructions to keep your virgin wool vest clean and in excellent condition:

Hand Wash Only: Wool felt is delicate and should be hand-washed with cool or lukewarm water to prevent shrinking and damage.

1. Use Mild Detergent: Choose a wool-safe or mild detergent that is free from bleach or harsh chemicals. Avoid using fabric softeners.

2. Do Not Rub or Scrub: Gently swish the wool felt in the water. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the fabric as it can cause felting or damage.

3. Avoid Hot Water: Hot water will cause wool felt to shrink. Always wash with cold or lukewarm water.

4. Rinse Thoroughly: Ensure all detergent is rinsed out with cold water. Any soap residue left behind can affect the texture of the wool.

5. Do Not Wring: After washing, gently press out excess water, but do not wring or twist the felt as it can distort the shape.

6. Lay Flat to Dry: Reshape the felt while damp and lay it flat to dry on a clean towel. Do not hang dry as the weight of the water may cause the fabric to stretch.

7. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Dry the wool felt in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat, which can cause fading and shrinkage.

8. Steam Ironing (Optional): If the felt has wrinkles, use a steam iron on a low setting and place a cloth between the iron and the felt to prevent scorching. Never apply direct heat.

9. Dry Cleaning (Optional): Some wool felt garments can also be dry cleaned if needed. Always check the care label first.
